The Channel Islands are home to a interesting mix of birds. The islands provide the only breeding population of Xantus's Murrelets north of the Mexican border, half the world's population of breeding Ashy Storm-Petrels, and the only major breeding population of California Brown Pelicans in the Western U.S. Probably the biggest draw to a birder visiting the islands is the endemic Island Scrub Jay which is only found on Santa Cruz Island.
Directions: The islands are accessible by boat or plane and the National Park Service has some boat trips to islands that are part of the national park. I've included links below to the National Park website which provides further details.
